The year 2009 means 25 years of Def Jam. So it just seems right for Def Jam to do something special and so they did. Def Jam teamed up with Serato to release a limited edition Serato Pressing in celebration of their 25th Anniversary

The Limited Edition Serato pack comes with 2 clear control discs and 2 slip mats. The control discs are Serato control on one side and actual tracks on the flip side. 5000 pressed.

Diggin in the Bargain Bin

I went to Vertigo Records today and picked up a few gems in the discount bin.
Diggin the crates, I found my diamonds in the rough. I bought some because they were gems, and a few others simply because they were mems (memories). haha I can rhyme.

Yea, I got some Milli Vanilli. Definitely just for the mems, It was only fifty cents.
It has their hit Girl You Know Its True, and then three club remixes.

Miri Benari the Hip Hop Violinist.
This one is really unique. She's a violinist that hooks up with the top rappers. The violinist & rapper, duo sound really good together.

This last one is a gem! Rockin with the Hits.
It's a compilation album with a bunch of hits like 99 Red Balloons, Girl Just Wanna Have Fun. and the biggest surprise ever... It has Herbie Hancock & Grand Mixer DST/DXT 1983 Hit single Rockit!

I picked this up and noticed a few hits on the first side, i checked out the B-Sides and as my eyes just started scrolling down. I see the word Rockit. Doooooope! I gladly payed my fifty cents. I felt like i just committed a crime because it was so cheap

I paid just over 5 bucks for all this, I need to hit up the discount bin first from now on!

Jazzy Jeff added the turntablist touch to this mix. The mix sounds and feels live, as if Jazzy Jeff was spinning for Michael right in front of you. It has all the classic songs you would expect to hear then rare cut and samples from lesser known tracks.

DJ Jazzy Jeff and UNDRCRWN teamed up and released some limited edition commemorative t-shirts. I ordered mine from Turntablelab.com and it came three days later. Yeah, this afternoon it arrived. UPS is doing they job! The shirt came with a hard copy of the mix.
